About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Indigenous Affairs Advisor to join our People team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will support the development of State-Based Social Inclusion Strategies for VIC, NSW, and QLD, as well as contribute to the delivery and implementation of Indigenous initiatives and commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with local workforce inclusion providers and community stakeholders to explore opportunities for social benefit suppliers.
- Identify strategic opportunities for priority jobseeker cohorts tailored to geography and project needs.
- Work closely with Procurement and Operations to identify opportunities for social benefit suppliers during the tender phase.
- Establish targets and reporting requirements for relevant tenders.
- Support the delivery and implementation of Laing O'Rourke's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and alignment with Indigenous Affairs strategy.
- Coordinate and manage key Indigenous initiatives, programs, partnerships, and memberships.
- Coordinate and manage the delivery of Cultural Awareness Training.
- Support the Head of Indigenous Affairs in identifying State and Federal funding to support social inclusion programs.
About You
- You will have a strong understanding of current Government policy and requirements specific to Social Procurement and Workforce Inclusion.
- Experience in developing and delivering inclusive employment programs is essential.
- Strong communication and leadership skills are required.
- You will have the ability to problem-solve and develop creative solutions.
- Ability to work with local community groups, support services, and key stakeholders is necessary.
- Ability to work within a complex project environment is essential.
- An understanding of policy papers, briefs, project deeds, and Scope performance requirements is required.
