About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Performance and Capacity Expert to join our team at eFinancialCareers Ltd. as a Senior Infrastructure Services Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Mainframe service, working closely with L1 partners, vendors, and third-party suppliers to deliver technical solutions and validate implementations.
  • Develop and maintain technical solutions within the Mainframe, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the business.
  • Lead and support the Mainframe Infrastructure Services team, providing expert technical advice and superior customer service for complex problems and incidents.
  • Evaluate and deliver technical changes, providing subject matter expertise to validate proposals and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with partners, vendors, and third-party suppliers to guide the evaluation and finalization of requirements to fulfill requests.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' relevant experience in Mainframe Performance and Capacity Planning.
  • 7+ years' experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment, incorporating planning, implementation, operational management, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Experience with TDS (Tivoli Decision Support for z/OS), IZPCA (IBM Z Performance and Capacity Analytics), and SAS/MXG.
  • Full understanding of IBM Z Systems (IBM z15) and Operations.
  • Experience with investigating performance issues on Mainframe.
  • Knowledge of other system products such as z/OS (z O/S 2.5), IMS, CICS, DB2.
  • Solid understanding of capacity planning concepts, including producing capacity plans.
  • Experience with z Series Hardware, processor, DASD, tape, and strong understanding of components that comprise the mainframe environment.
  • Advanced analysis, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and consultative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant technical certifications desirable.
