About Harness Racing Industry

The harness racing industry is a significant contributor to Victoria's economy and provides a platform for exciting sport and entertainment.

As a key player in the industry, we are responsible for the control, development, and promotion of the Victorian harness racing sector.

We work closely with other Victorian racing codes to support the ethical treatment of animals and promote integrity in the sport.

Race Day Stewarding Role

This role involves working as a highly respected Steward's assistant to ensure fair racing practices.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation and research prior to race meetings to maintain accuracy and fairness
  • Attending race meetings, inquiries, and appeals to guarantee the highest standards of integrity
  • Race performance analysis and report writing to inform decision-making
  • Building professional relationships with participants and stakeholders to foster trust and cooperation

About You

Ideally, you have an interest in sports integrity, administration, and horse racing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in sports integrity or racing stewarding environments
  • In-depth knowledge of horses, racing strategies, and rules
  • Strong understanding of legal principles related to horse racing
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills
