Job Title: Payroll Officer

This is a critical role that requires dedication, experience, and strong analytical skills. As a Payroll Officer, you will play a key part in ensuring payroll operations run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently.

  • Process end-to-end payroll for all employees, including new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments.
  • Manage employee leave entitlements (annual, personal, and long service leave).
  • Respond to payroll inquiries and provide guidance to employees and management.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, including monthly and annual reports.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of payroll taxes, superannuation, and other obligations.
  • Work closely with the People & Culture team to maintain accurate employee records.
  • Continuously monitor payroll processes and implement improvements for efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with taxation, superannuation, and Fair Work regulations.
  • Process payroll calculations such as back-pay and terminations.
  • Manage internal Fringe Benefits processes.
  • Calculate and process complex payroll adjustments, including back pay and termination payouts, redundancy payments etc.
  • Provide backup support to the payroll team as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of hands-on payroll experience in a fast-paced environment, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. They will be comfortable working in a complex payroll environment, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Enterprise Agreements and Awards, a high level of proficiency in payroll software, Excel, and a solid understanding of Fair Work, Payroll, Tax, and Superannuation legislation in Australia.
