Lawson Elliott Recruitment is collaborating with a national organisation to bring on a Senior Payroll Officer due to a recent opening within the team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll function for all employees within the organisation, working closely with the Payroll Manager. You will handle fortnightly payroll processing and pay runs for the main business entity and other smaller entities.

This position offers a great opportunity for a confident Senior Payroll Officer seeking to challenge themselves further, suggest and implement new processes, and collaborate closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure smooth operations and adherence to deadlines.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. End-to-end payroll processing (fortnightly pay run)
  2. Weekly and month-end payroll reporting
  3. Processing expense claims
  4. Bank reconciliations
  5. Interpreting complex awards and EBA's
  6. Superannuation and termination calculations
  7. Managing timesheets
  8. Ensuring payroll compliance
  9. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  10. Managing the payroll inbox and responding to queries
  11. Performing ad-hoc duties as required

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar role
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective team player with strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and within a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with HRIS and time & attendance systems
