Key roles and responsibilities include processing warrants, authorisations, notices and requests under relevant legislation.

The incumbent will contribute to the preparation of reports to government and oversight bodies on the use of covert surveillance powers. Briefs to executive and responses to questions on notice regarding the AFP's use of covert surveillance powers must also be prepared.

Support is required for inspections by oversight bodies across various legislative regimes. The candidate will process and quality assure historical and prospective data telecommunication requests.

Liaising with investigators in relation to reporting the use of powers and contributing to the maintenance of database registers and files to ensure legislative accountability are key tasks.

Building good working relationships with stakeholders (both internal and external) and fostering a mentor relationship with team members are essential.

Innovative ideas to enhance processes in support of team objectives must be contributed. Administrative tasks as required will also be undertaken.

  • Australian citizenship
  • Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise
