About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at SGS. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing and participating in the effective product design and engineering for the Gearhart group of businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review existing products to improve ongoing product performance.
  • Pursue new opportunities and products through engineering support and guidance.
  • Develop special purpose solutions to meet client objectives.
  • Ensure all design output adheres strictly to set quality and industry requirements.
  • Development of design concepts, engineering calculation, detail design, drafting, 2D, 3D.
  • Lead, participate and encourage a safe work environment.
  • Investigation of product quality and performance issues for existing products.
  • Development, testing and engineering of Redback products.
  • Develop and produce field reports on Redback products.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in Oil Gas or Mining Industry, manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Formal Engineering qualifications.
  • Competent in a variety of design and engineering software, Auto Cad 2D, 3D Inventor.
  • Strong understanding in materials metallurgy.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
