System Security Specialist Position

This role plays a crucial part in safeguarding the organization's information systems and maintaining their integrity. As a System Security Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Conducting periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization packages.
  • Preparing and reviewing security protocols to guarantee that all necessary controls are in place.
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware meet required security standards.
  • Monitoring system recovery processes to verify that security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly.
  • Ensuring that all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to authorized personnel.

Requirements for this position include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, information assurance, or cybersecurity.
  • CISSP, Security+, or equivalent certification.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a current ISSO role with IA certifications may suffice for degree.
  • Experience in Intelligence Community Directive 503 (ICD 503) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Meets DoD 8570.1 Certification Requirements as an Information Assurance Technical Category II (IAT II) minimum.
