About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Equity Capital Markets Specialist to join our team at CommBank. As a key member of our Equity Capital Markets team, you will play a critical role in raising equity capital and providing strategic advice to our corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the vision and strategy for our Equity Capital Markets offering, driving growth and revenue for the business.
  • Lead the origination and execution of our Equity Capital Markets activities, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver high-quality results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with syndicate members, clients, and key stakeholders in the broader market, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue capital raising opportunities for our corporate clients, leveraging your expertise and network to drive business growth.
  • Structure and execute various ECM transactions, including equity deals and listed debt, as well as structured products such as Listed Investment Companies.
  • Coordinate RFP responses and pitch book presentations, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible advice and solutions.
  • Manage deal execution activities, including documentation, structuring, financial modeling, and corporate advice for equity capital markets issuance.
  • Develop, train, and mentor junior and mid-level team members, providing guidance and feedback to ensure their success and growth.
  • Manage the continued development and improvement of our Equity Capital Markets risk and operating framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and compliance obligations.
  • Assist with coordinating responses to regulatory changes affecting the Australian financial services industry.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in equity capital markets, corporate finance, or M&A, with a strong understanding of Australian equity capital markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of market trends, investor sentiment, and the current regulatory environment.
  • Experience across the end-to-end transaction cycle, with a focus on execution and delivery.
  • Demonstrated track record of corporate development, with a strong book of stakeholder relationships and the ability to identify capital raising and corporate advisory opportunities.
  • Ability to lead a deal team to successfully execute transactions, prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of the applicable regulatory landscape in Australia and abroad.
  • Confidence in building quality relationships with clients and brokers, with a strong ability to collaborate and operate in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Law, or other relevant discipline.
  • Completed or working towards a relevant postgraduate degree, including MBA, JD, or Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
  • Ability to obtain RG146 accreditation.
