Electrical and Instrumentation Designer Role

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to join our team as an Electrical and Instrumentation Designer. As a seasoned professional, you will play a pivotal role in crafting high-quality electrical, control, and instrumentation deliverables for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development: Transform conceptual designs into detailed technical deliverables through meticulous interpretation and execution.
  • Drawing Preparation: Create and update electrical and control system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's and Panel Arrangements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct thorough site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings, maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Support & Maintenance: Maintain design infrastructure and tool procedures, driving continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Training & Audits: Train new starters in our design tool procedures, and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and excellence.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with drafters, designers, and Engineers to ensure timely project completion that meets budget and quality expectations.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure consistency and compliance with design standards across relevant Australian Standards, maintaining a high level of professionalism and expertise.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent) with relevant industry experience, or a relevant electrical trade background.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical/Instrumentation/Control Detail Draftsperson.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD (Advanced to Expert level) and/or MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in design tools like AVEVA Instrumentation and Eplan.
  • Experience in 3D modelling software.
  • Strong oral communication skills for effective client and team interaction.
  • High level of computer literacy and excellent mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and ideally an understanding of ISO 9001 principles.
