Skilled Surface Coating Specialist

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Industrial Painter to join our team at ALCOA Wagerup.
The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and technical skills that can truly shine in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Perform surface preparation on steel or hard composition objects, ensuring removal of all contamination and achieving the specified finish.
- Apply paint or similar coatings using spraying or brushing techniques.
- Review painting specifications and comply with required standards.
- Blast to profile tolerances and specifications.
- Take precise measurements when measuring blast profile.
- Maintain accurate records of painting thickness, including DFTs, paint reports, salt testing, etc., as necessary.
- Manage inventory of materials, including paints and consumables, and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Provide guidance and assistance to apprentices and trades assistants.
- Local residency in the Southwest region.
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Industrial Painting or Blasting OR Relative experience.
- Valid Driver's Licence.
- Work at Heights & Confined Space Tickets.
- Dogging/Rigging certification (preferred but not essential).
- Forklift Ticket (preferred but not essential).
- Physical fitness for manual labour and ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
- Strong commitment to safety and reliable work ethic.
