Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Coatings Specialist to perform surface preparation and application of coatings to steel or hard composition objects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of painting specifications and be able to work accurately to achieve the specified finish.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary.
  • Apply paint or similar coatings using spraying or brushing techniques.
  • Review painting specifications and comply with required standards.
  • Take precise measurements when measuring blast profile.
  • Maintain accurate records of painting thickness, including DFTs, paint reports, salt testing, etc., as necessary.
  • Manage inventory of materials, including paints and consumables.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of machines and equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Industrial Painting or Blasting OR Relative experience.
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
  • Work at Heights & Confined Space Tickets.
  • Dogging/Rigging certification (preferred but not essential).
  • Forklift Ticket (preferred but not essential).
  • Physical fitness for manual labour and ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
  • Strong commitment to safety and reliable work ethic.
