We are seeking a skilled Sales Estimator to join our team at Ahrens, a leading Australian family-owned company with 120 years of experience in delivering high-quality and cost-effective products and projects. As a Sales Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing estimates for water storage projects from concept to handover, working closely with our Sales Manager and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide input into the 'buildability' of projects during the design phase to ensure that the design is generated in the most cost-effective manner.
- Review preliminary specifications to determine scope of works.
- Develop the project scope in consultation with the Operations Manager and the client.
- Liaise with drafters, engineers, and other relevant professionals to ensure practical and compliant designs.
- Consultation with the Contracts & Compliance team to agree commercial terms.
- Ensure all tasks and plans are in accordance with legislation, regulation, and service requirements.
- Send out and review pricing from approved subcontractors, suppliers, trades, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare tender submissions to clients.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest design, innovation, codes, and standards in order to provide the best solutions to clients.
- Minimum 3 years' experience estimating in commercial projects;
- Ability to interpret technical drawings;
- Comprehensive understanding of construction drawings/methods and standards for tender submission;
- High level of attention to detail with regards to reviewing and interpreting documentation supplied as part of a RFQ or similar;
- Strong communication skills;
- Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Suite and similar products;
- Basic knowledge of common ERP systems (SAP, Pronto).
