Job Title: Sales Estimator

Burbank is seeking a highly skilled Sales Estimator to join our team. As a Sales Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates for residential housing projects and managing construction costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce cost estimates for residential housing projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Liaise with drafts people, engineers, builders, contractors, suppliers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Study architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities, which list individual components required for the project and related actions.
  • Issue purchase orders and contracts for respective functions and calculate the company's required margin in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist project managers with new design and cost analysis.
  • Analyze plans and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to tenders as the project develops.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of two years' experience in the building industry with a good construction background.
  • Analytical and logical thinking skills.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Good knowledge of building terminology.
  • Able to concentrate for long periods.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate with figure work.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Aptitude for working with computers.
