This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the development of a culturally safe and responsive Model of Care toolkit for Aboriginal patients and families.
About The RoleThe successful applicant will play a pivotal role in supporting the Cancer Care Coordinator in designing, implementing, and evaluating the Aboriginal Cancer Care Model of Care toolkit.
This position involves project planning, resource development, and system-level improvements to ensure Aboriginal patients and families receive high-quality care that respects their culture and community needs.
- Support the Cancer Care Coordinator in co-designing and implementing the Aboriginal Cancer Care Model of Care toolkit.
- Undertake project planning, coordination, and reporting to facilitate service development and improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams, health providers, and Aboriginal communities to identify gaps and develop targeted solutions.
- Strengthen partnerships to enhance integration of culturally safe cancer care services.
- Contribute to ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement of cancer care pathways for Aboriginal patients and families.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, health providers, and Aboriginal communities to support the delivery of culturally responsive care.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the quality and efficiency of cancer care services.
Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver culturally safe care.
Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, and make recommendations for improvement.
What You Will NeedTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures and histories.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a project coordination or management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
