Job Title: Medium Voltage Power System Designer

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team as a Medium Voltage Power System Designer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering cutting-edge medium voltage (MV) power systems.

  • You will design and engineer MV switchgear systems to meet customer requirements and comply with IEC/AS standards.
  • You will analyze and clarify customer specifications, adapting Siemens switchgear designs where necessary.
  • You will verify primary MV switchgear components (CB, CT/VTs) to ensure suitability for application.
  • You will prepare, review, and maintain detailed design documentation and system realization plans.
  • You will coordinate secondary designs and ensure all systems meet design inputs.
  • You will collaborate across business units, project managers, customers, and factories to achieve project milestones.
  • You will manage quality assurance, testing, and inspection processes to guarantee reliable system delivery.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8-10+ years' experience (MIE Aust/NER or CPEng highly desirable)
  • Proven expertise in MV GIS and AIS switchgear design (primary and secondary)
  • Strong knowledge of LV switchgear design and transformer construction/testing standards
  • Proficiency in AS3000 standards and understanding divergences from IEC standards
  • Exceptional communication skills, both technical and non-technical
  • Full working rights in Australia
