Biosecurity Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Biosecurity Professional to lead our invasive species management team in Queensland. This is a key role within the high-performing team, providing leadership that protects and enhances invasive species management in Queensland.

The impact of invasive plants and animals on the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health, and our way of life is significant. Our IPA program directs strategic action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.

  • Provide leadership that protects and enhances invasive species management in Queensland
  • Prevent and reduce priority pest impacts on-ground
  • Actively assist the lead of a high-performing team

It is a requirement for all Biosecurity Queensland positions to have a criminal history check completed. Applications remain current for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement plans collaboratively with the team, ensuring they are technically sound and follow best practices

- Lead preventative approaches to reduce the impacts of priority invasive pest species

- Work closely with the team to achieve goals and objectives
