About the Role
- This position involves working with stakeholders to prepare evidence-based pest risk assessments that will be used to prioritise invasive and potentially invasive animal and plant species.
- Key responsibilities include documenting pest risk assessment procedures, developing/refining decision-support tools, promoting awareness of the process used to select top-priority species for regulatory and operational responses, maintaining a library of scientific assessments and contributing to the development of surveillance plans, eradication feasibility assessments and species-specific control plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of contemporary methods for managing invasive species.
- Ability to document procedures and develop/revise policies and practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
