The role of Community Engagement Officer is to provide support and guidance to school leaders and other school staff in building cultural inclusion, cohesion, and engagement with families and communities from culturally diverse backgrounds.
This involves working with targeted schools to support Multicultural Education, developing and delivering training programs, and providing practical support and advice to school leaders.
The successful candidate will be a culturally responsive and relationship-driven professional with a deep understanding of multicultural education and community engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
- Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
