Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Manager to lead our communications team. This is a key role that requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies, providing expert advice on media relations, social media engagement, and crisis communications. They will also lead the development of educational campaigns and publications to promote the health complaints system.

As a senior leader in the team, you will provide guidance and support to junior staff members, coach and mentor them to achieve their full potential, and participate in the Division Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies to improve relationships with diverse community groups.
  • Provide expert advice on media relations, social media engagement, and crisis communications.
  • Lead the development of educational campaigns and publications to promote the health complaints system.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff members to achieve their full potential.
  • Participate in the Division Leadership Team to drive operational core business and produce quality outcomes.

  • Ability to research, write, and edit complex documents and communication resources to a high professional standard.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating wide-reaching communication projects (campaigns, publications, and events) from inception to completion.
