Desktop Support Specialist

This role is ideal for a highly skilled IT professional who excels in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to desktops and laptops. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be proactive, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

About the Role:

  • The Desktop Support Specialist will provide top-notch technical support to end-users, ensuring that their desktops and laptops are running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support: Provide first- and second-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
  2. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktops and laptops, including hardware and software problems.
  3. System Administration: Administer and support technical operating systems and enterprise data in a Windows Active Directory environment.
  4. Software Deployment: Deploy security patches to Windows Servers on a monthly basis.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with SCCM, ServiceNow, and Jira in large enterprise environments.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of PowerShell for automation and scripting tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows OS (Win10/11) with experience in software installation and virtual desktop management (Citrix).
  • Familiarity with MS Excel for reporting and data management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail, and high-quality interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Jira in large enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS (Windows 10/11) - installation, configuration, and patch management.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory (Windows AD environment administration).
  • Familiarity with Citrix or virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel for data reporting and management.
