Job Title:

Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Mackay. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in structural design and analysis, with a strong background in construction projects within the mining, marine and transport infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake structural design, including computer-based analysis of mining/marine/transport infrastructure structures with concrete and steelwork;
  • Work on critical projects with a key focus on safety and quality;
  • Act as client contact for specific projects;
  • Conduct condition assessments, audits and surveys;
  • Liaise with staff members in other offices; and
  • Other tasks as allocated by senior staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering;
  • 8 years' industry experience;
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in using structural analysis software packages such as SpaceGas and Strand7;
  • Sound knowledge and experience in structural design, analysis, client/stakeholder management and project delivery;
  • Understanding and/or experience on major construction projects;
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • Be currently residing in Australia and have unrestricted working rights;
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English to a professional level; and
  • Experience in working with marine, mobile machines, bulk materials handling or shafts/tunnel assets; and
  • Sound knowledge or experience with Cathodic Protection design and durability engineering.
