Job Summary

This role will support the Australian Financial Reporting team as a Lead Financial Reporting Specialist. The primary responsibility is to manage monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and tax reporting for a diverse range of investment manager and superannuation fund clients. Additionally, you will act as an escalation point for client queries and establish a level of client knowledge to ensure all requirements are met.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the Financial Reporting process for the Client Accounting group(s).
  • Develops and maintains specific subject expertise and advises businesses management and relevant third parties.
  • Provides advice to internal clients on business trends, issues, operating environment changes, and firm or business unit strategy.
  • Maintains risk management and compliance programs and activities for their assigned group.
  • Acts as a subject area expert and directs activities of staff.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent leadership and organizational skills to develop periodic goals and manage team members towards those goals. You should also possess strong oral and written communication skills and have in-depth functional/industry knowledge. Technical understanding and practical application of accounting and tax concepts as they relate to Managed Investment Schemes (MIS) and Superannuation funds are essential.

About You:

  • Demonstrated high-level understanding of Australian Accounting Standards as they relate to MIS and Superannuation funds.
  • Demonstrated high-level understanding of Australian Tax rules as they relate to MIS and Superannuation funds.
  • Understanding of unit pricing and unit registry concepts.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Accounting/Commerce/Finance degree qualified ideally with a CA or CPA.

Pay Package:

The estimated salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$160,000 per annum, depending on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
