Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our Sydney team. As a key member of the procurement function, you will play a vital role in maintaining a smooth supply chain.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and implement best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for managing purchase orders and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Proactively resolve supplier-related issues to maintain an efficient supply chain.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure we always have what is needed, when it is needed.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to communicate and resolve delays, keeping everyone informed.
  • Maintain and update our Warehouse Management System (WMS) with precision.
  • Develop forecasting skills to effectively plan stock purchases.
  • Process clearance line orders as requested by the sales team.
  • Suggest alternative products when suppliers are out of stock.
  • Ensure seamless warehouse replenishment, minimizing disruptions.
  • Keep accurate records, reports, and documentation up to date.
  • Conduct regular stock takes with the warehouse team.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to plan and execute tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain product knowledge, including handling and food safety requirements, to support company standards.
  • Prepare and share weekly reports on short-dated stock with relevant teams.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
  • Experience working in the Food Service industry.
  • Prior experience with different ERP and WMS systems.
  • A tertiary qualification in business management, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
