Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to all aspects of clinical care, working closely with our credentialled medical specialists and the Director of Critical Care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, collaborating with the specialist team to plan care and develop treatment goals.
- Attend patient rounds, document ongoing management, and communicate treatment plans with the nursing team.
- Review patient concerns and attend to deteriorating patients as part of the medical emergency team.
- Perform necessary procedures, including PIVC, CVC, PICC, and arterial cannulation.
- Manage mechanically ventilated patients, with expertise in intubation and airway management.
- Assist with procedural sedation in the unit when required.
- A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Previous post-graduate acute/critical care experience (mandatory).
- Expert procedural skills, including advanced life support (adult & paediatric), arterial line insertion, central line insertion (CVC & PICC).
- Expert medical knowledge of critical illnesses and conditions, including cardiac and acute coronary syndrome management.
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to the role.
- High-level oral and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities, plan, and organise workloads.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and provide high-quality customer service.
