Spiritual Care Practitioner
About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Spiritual Care Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. As a vital member of our care delivery, you will provide person-centred spiritual support to residents and their families across our sites.
This role embodies our commitment to holistic care, recognising that spiritual wellbeing is essential to overall health and quality of life.
You will work collaboratively with our team, fostering meaningful connections and promoting autonomy, dignity, and emotional wellbeing for each resident. With sensitivity and insight, you'll provide inclusive spiritual care that honours the diverse beliefs, cultures, and traditions of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver compassionate, person-centred spiritual support to residents and their families
- Foster meaningful connections and promote autonomy, dignity, and emotional wellbeing for each resident
- Provide inclusive spiritual care that honours the diverse beliefs, cultures, and traditions of our community
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Bachelor degree in Theology, Counselling, Social Sciences or equivalent at a tertiary level
- Clinical Pastoral Education or the equivalent reflective practice training (according to current industry standards)
- Certified Level Two member of Spiritual Care Australia preferred: eligibility essential
- Awareness and understanding of diverse cultures, beliefs, practices and traditions
- Capability in leading public and informal rituals and services
- Driver's License and a willingness to travel to various Sites
- Knowledge of the process of ageing and dementia awareness
- Understanding of issues and spiritual needs surrounding grief and loss
- A thorough understanding of the spiritual and pastoral care components of palliative care
