Job Title: Senior Knowledge Lawyer

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Knowledge Lawyer to join our Legal Operations team in Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our lawyers and ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services. Reporting to the Head of Knowledge, your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing the firm's knowledge management strategy, ensuring seamless integration with our overall business objectives.
  • Establishing policies, standards, and governance processes for managing our knowledge assets, guaranteeing their integrity and accessibility.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and continuous improvement of our knowledge management systems and repositories, ensuring they remain up-to-date and user-friendly.
  • Facilitating the discovery, capture, and sharing of knowledge across practice groups, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Providing research and advisory support to lawyers on complex legal issues and practice-related queries, ensuring timely and informed decision-making.
  • Designing and delivering Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and training programs to educate lawyers on best practices, plain language drafting, and the effective use of our knowledge resources.
  • Identifying strategic precedent drafting priorities and creating high-quality knowledge products, such as precedents and best practice guides, and client alerts.
  • Collaborating with team leaders, knowledge team members, and other key stakeholders to align knowledge initiatives with their needs, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives, providing data-driven insights to inform our strategy.

Requirements:

  • Australian qualified lawyer with a strong understanding of legal research and writing.
  • Experience in drafting complex documents in plain language, with a focus on clarity and concision.
  • Experience in designing and delivering engaging and informative CLE and training programs, tailored to the needs of our lawyers.
  • Experience in precedent drafting and development, with a focus on creating high-quality knowledge products.
  • Experience in or familiarity with automation of precedents and processes, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external clients professionally.
  • Excellent legal research skills and strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Commercial acumen coupled with a client-oriented focus, with a deep understanding of our clients' needs and expectations.
