Forensic Mental Health Therapist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Forensic Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team in Townsville, North Queensland.

About the Role:

  • Duties:
    • Deliver formulation-driven therapy and evidence-based psychological interventions to support individuals with complex mental health needs.
    • Conduct comprehensive forensic assessments and provide responsive, person-centred therapies to promote recovery and community safety.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary treating teams across Townsville, North West QLD, and Mackay to ensure continuity of care and effective service delivery.
    • Provide consultation-liaison services to Hospital and Health Services to enhance service coordination and patient outcomes.
    • Mentor and supervise less experienced clinicians to develop their skills and expertise.
    • Lead training and capacity-building initiatives across mental health teams to improve service quality and performance.
  • Requirements:
    • A four-year Psychology degree (Honours or Graduate Diploma) and registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist.
    • A valid Class C Driver's Licence for travel across the region.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
