
Aboriginal Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated professional to work with Aboriginal children and families in the child protection system, aiming to improve outcomes and strengthen family capacity.
Key Responsibilities:- Support holistic wellbeing (physical, emotional, social, cultural, spiritual) of Aboriginal children and families in the child protection system.
- Assess risks, develop culturally grounded safety plans, and strengthen family connections to culture and community.
- Implement strength-based and healing practices, advocate in the Children's Court, and maintain accurate case records.
- Build collaborative relationships with families, community organisations, and government partners to ensure culturally safe, wrap-around support.
- Uphold health, safety, and compliance standards and promote the rights and voices of Aboriginal children and families.
- A degree in Social Work or related field, accompanied by practical experience, or a Diploma in Community Services with a focus on child welfare, along with fieldwork and case management training.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination, Working with Children's Check for paid employees, and Victorian Driver Licence.
