
Aboriginal Child Care Specialist

This role presents a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Aboriginal children and families involved in the child protection system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster communication, provide support to schools, and enhance educational outcomes for Aboriginal children and young students.
- Support project delivery, client care, maintain records, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintain values by attending meetings, training, and ensuring effective community connection and cultural case management.
- Collaborate with Aboriginal children, families, Government, and sector partners to reduce the overrepresentation of Aboriginal children in care.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of Residential Care placements, focusing on delivering high-quality services and support to clients.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be culturally sensitive, and demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal children and families.
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Proven experience in child protection and family support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
