The role of Clinical Coding Manager is pivotal in ensuring compliance with Australian standards. A successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of clinical coding strategies to drive quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough audits to identify areas for enhancement and implement targeted solutions to boost coding accuracy.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to support team growth and professional development.
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance coding skills and competence.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on best practices in clinical documentation, DRG, and activity-based funding.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical coding using ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and adhere to Australian Coding Standards when interpreting documentation for coding purposes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent qualification, or Clinical Coding certification, or completion of Clinical Coding Auditing course, and eligibility for full HIMAA membership.
  • Demonstrated experience in auditing tertiary hospitals with a strong understanding of audit processes and data integrity.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years coding experience across diverse case mixes in private or public health facilities.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian and NSW Coding Standards.
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement training programs for coders and clinical documentation improvement recommendations.
