Clinical Coding Manager Role Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular coding audits, providing coding education to the team, monitoring coder's performance, educating clinicians on clinical documentation, DRG and activity-based funding, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers a hybrid work model, providing flexibility to work remotely.

  • Conduct comprehensive coding audits to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies to enhance coding accuracy.
  • Lead and provide ongoing coding education to support team growth and professional development.
  • Prepare and deliver education and training activities to the coding team.
  • Educate clinicians on clinical documentation improvement, DRG and activity-based funding.

About You:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent tertiary qualification) or Clinical Coding qualification or completion of Clinical coding auditing course and be eligible for full HIMAA membership.
  • Demonstrate auditing experience in a tertiary hospital with sound knowledge of audit processes and data integrity.
  • Have a minimum of 3-5 years coding experience in abstracting and coding across a wide case mix in a private or public health facility.
  • Have a sound understanding of Australian and NSW Coding Standards.
  • Have knowledge of developing, designing and implementing training programs for coders and clinical documentation improvement recommendations.
