Position Overview
This is a permanent full-time opportunity focused on providing essential support within the Permanency Support Program (PSP).

About Uniting's Permanency Support Program
The PSP is dedicated to ensuring that every child and young person has access to a nurturing home environment. This can be achieved through various means, including parental care, family placements, guardianship, adoption, or high-quality long-term care. The program also offers culturally appropriate placement options for children and young individuals aged 0-18 years. Additionally, PSP provides a supportive Aftercare service for young adults aged 18-25 who have transitioned out of foster care, collaborating with the Extended Care Pilot program team to deliver comprehensive support utilizing the Advantage Thinking approach.

Role Responsibilities
The individual in this position will assist the casework team with various aspects of case management to facilitate permanency outcomes for children and young people entering Uniting's care. This role serves as a recognized pathway and development opportunity towards a full Caseworker position.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Community Services or be actively pursuing a social service qualification.
  • A strong commitment to advocating for children, young people, and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to compliance with legal, governmental, and policy standards.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
