Personal Care Assistant

  • Position Type: Permanent Part-time
  • Location: Coffs Harbour, NSW
  • Compensation: $30.71 per hour + Super + Shift penalties + NFP
  • Organization: Not-For-Profit values-based organization

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will be instrumental in fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere for our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality care that promotes independence while respecting individual preferences.
  • Assisting residents with personal hygiene, dressing, and toileting.
  • Supporting residents during meal times and facilitating mobility and social interactions.
  • Providing general assistance, including tidying living spaces and offering companionship.
  • Preparing dining areas for meals and ensuring cleanliness post-service.
  • Encouraging participation in leisure and lifestyle activities.
  • Responding promptly to resident requests for assistance.
  • Reporting any changes in resident health to the Registered Nurse on duty.
  • Building strong relationships with residents and their families to enhance their experience.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent qualifications.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Residential Aged Care setting.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • A commitment to honoring the values and preferences of residents.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Evidence of Covid Vaccinations.
  • Willingness to obtain NDIS clearance.

This role involves working shifts on both weekdays and weekends, with a minimum annual salary of $70,000.
