About this role

Institutional Banking and Markets is responsible for managing relationships with corporate and government clients, providing capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services.

The Product Control group maintains a strong control framework around daily P&L and financial reporting. Developing relationships with Front Office & other stakeholder areas will be a key success factor.

This role involves:

  • Managing product control function for Interest Rates & Derivatives desks
  • Reviewing daily, monthly and quarterly P&L results in line with market moves and risk positions
  • Leading junior team members
  • Partnering Front Office on strategic initiatives
  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of product source system data interfacing the general ledger
  • Reviewing balance sheet substantiation and month end ledger close
  • Preparing data for statutory and regulatory reports
  • Ongoing enhancements to improve efficiency and controls

Required skills and qualifications

  • Accounting background
  • 2+ years experience in product control or financial control
  • Experience controlling traded financial products
  • Good working knowledge of Murex trading system
  • Relevant accounting standards
  • Financial reporting framework and technical skills
  • VBA, SQL, Tableau Prep, PowerBI, Alteryx or analytical tools
  • Problem-solving, multitasking, meeting deadlines and commercial acumen
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or business discipline
  • Accounting qualification (CPA, CA, CFA)
