Job OverviewWe seek an experienced Application Engineer to support our commercial activity and product development. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with hardware and software engineers working on our technology agnostic energy storage systems to provide dynamic solutions to clients across various industries. Your mission is to design technology agnostic solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements.
Your Responsibilities:- Listen to and address customer needs by designing a technology agnostic solution that meets and exceeds customer requirements.
- Work cross-functionally to gather information and resources necessary to design and differentiate customer-centric solutions.
- Run techno-economic analysis to drive optimum design and solution.
- Develop necessary tools and processes to drive continuous improvement in our customer proposals and offerings.
- Assist in producing engineering concept designs that accurately represent proposed solutions.
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify strategic opportunities.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- 8+ years of experience in engineering with Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Renewable Generation technologies.
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or similar) is preferred; a Master's degree in engineering is a plus.
- Experience with electrical power systems design for power generation, distribution, and storage.
- Proven ability to manage all aspects of technical solution proposal, including site evaluation and analysis, technology selection and optimization, detailed costing and estimating, and contract negotiations.
- Basic knowledge of relevant standards and requirements in the renewable and energy storage industry.
- Experience in electrical design, including conductor sizing, protection, and controls configuration, and familiarity with Substation design and engineering concepts.
- Good understanding of inverter-based power systems, including design principles and limitations.
- Familiarity with electricity markets and products, as well as use cases realized by Energy Storage systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, rapid growth environments.
- A passion for sustainability is a bonus.
