Parole Officer Role Summary

Job Description:

As a Parole Officer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting community safety by effectively engaging with individuals on parole. This position offers ongoing professional development opportunities in a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in regular training and support initiatives
  • Full-time, ongoing position based in Melbourne's North
  • Identify risk escalation behaviors and respond appropriately in consultation with managerial staff
  • Conduct interviews and assessments of prisoners on parole to produce high-quality reports for the APB
  • Assess and refer prisoners on parole to relevant programs and services
  • Evaluate case management practices against best practice principles, including the Corrections Victoria Offender Management Framework

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing complex and high-risk clients
  • Knowledge and experience in best practice risk and therapeutic initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including detailed report writing experience
