At the forefront of our organisation, we are seeking a diligent and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting participants with mental health challenges to lead fulfilling and independent lives. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide emotional and practical support to NDIS participants, assisting them with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks as required.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Providing emotional and practical support to NDIS participants with mental health conditions
- Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Implementing and following individualized support plans in collaboration with participants and their support networks
- Encouraging independence, social engagement, and participation in community activities
- Supporting participants in managing their mental health through coping strategies, emotional regulation, and crisis de-escalation techniques
- Managing complex behaviours, including self-harm, and de-escalating property damage
You Will Also Be Responsible For:
- Maintaining accurate records of support provided, incidents, and participant progress
- Working closely with families, caregivers, therapists, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care
- Advocating for participants' rights and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:
- Certificate III, IV, or Diploma in Mental Health, Community Services, Disability Support, or a related field
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges or psychosocial disabilities
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and person-centered approaches
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
- NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check
Desirable Qualifications:
Possession of experience working within the NDIS framework, training in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention, multilingual skills, or experience working with culturally diverse communities is highly desirable.

- Personal Care - Including showering and dressing
- Household Tasks/Chores: Skill Development - Shopping and cooking
- Transport - Assisting with appointments and outings
- Achieving Participants' Goals and Aspirations: Working with Another Staff Member (if required)
- Managing Documentation - Shift notes, incident reports, and compliance records, medication documentation
- Engaging in Outdoor Activities - Bush walks, visits to animal parks, and other recreational activities
