Radiation Therapy Education Coordinator

Peter Mac is seeking a highly experienced Radiation Therapist to undertake the role of Radiation Therapy Education Coordinator. This position provides leadership in learning and development within Radiation Therapy Services, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee staff and student education activities across all five campuses of Peter Mac.
  • Develop and implement training programs to support the delivery of evolving practices.
  • Collaborate with content experts to develop and deliver training on new technologies and techniques.
  • Strengthen working relationships with the tertiary sector to coordinate and integrate educational and clinical practice requirements for pre-registration RTs.
  • Establish a link into the organisational educational strategy and strengthen relationships with other educational sections within the organisation.
  • Provide training and development support for other Radiation Therapy Department and Radiation Oncology initiatives.
  • Develop technologically innovative means for delivering research and news updates to RTs.
  • Develop close working connections with research groups in RT and other cancer research areas.
  • Provide leadership to RT clinical educators at all Peter Mac sites.
  • Represent Peter Mac in educational fora, both nationally and internationally.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with AHPRA & DHHS Radiation Use License.
  • Police Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Postgraduate degree in education, clinical education, or a similar field.
  • Proven track record in delivering clinical professional learning.
  • Demonstrated awareness of contemporary approaches to teaching and learning in healthcare.
  • Excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative and prioritise workload.
  • Highly effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive IT skills.
  • Maintains a patient-focused approach to service provision.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of radiation therapy professional requirements.
  • Maintains familiarity with clinical processes ensuring clinical skills currency.
  • Demonstrated awareness of advanced radiotherapy practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current technological innovations in radiotherapy treatment.
  • Familiarity with contemporary staff leadership and resource management practices.
  • Proven ability to manage change.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Demonstrated professional and ethical practice.
