
Mental Health Specialist

Deliver community-based mental health care to children and young people aged 5–18 and their families.
Assess and provide person-centred care tailored to each family's needs, whether through outreach or local services. The goal is to reduce hospital admissions by providing assertive risk management and early intervention.
As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to best practice and ensure care is delivered in accessible settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply professional knowledge and skills in a complex child and youth mental health setting, including evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Work therapeutically with families to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support high-quality care.
- Collaborate with other professionals to provide holistic care to children and young people.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to research projects to evaluate and develop practice.
Requirements:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in psychology or occupational therapy, with current registration with AHPRA, or social work and eligibility for membership of AASW.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to utilise a range of information systems.
- NSW Driver's License Class C (including P1 or above) and willingness to use same for work purposes.
