Key Position: Legal Advisor

As a seasoned legal advisor, you will be responsible for delivering corporate, commercial and financial services legal expertise to our organization.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate marketing materials to ensure adherence to legal standards.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on corporate legal, commercial and governance matters.
  • Develop, review and negotiate contracts.
  • Offer advice on insurance products and documentation.
  • Interpret statutes and provide advice on legislative reforms affecting our business.
  • Support litigation efforts for corporate disputes.
  • Offer expert legal counsel on complaints and potential disputes, including AFCA.
  • Deliver staff training sessions.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced tertiary qualifications (LLB or equivalent).
  • A current NSW (or other Australian State) Legal Practitioner Practising Certificate – mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a mid or top-tier firm.
  • Experience in providing commercial legal advice in private practice.
  • Previous experience working in an insurance and/or Australian financial services environment is beneficial.
  • A pragmatic and commercially focused approach, including understanding of the general insurance market.
  • Excellent stakeholder and people management skills.
  • Highly developed written and spoken language skills.
  • Understanding of the commercial environment of the general insurance market.
