Job Title: Cultural Heritage Research Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Cultural Heritage Research Associate. As a key member of our research department, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects related to Australian Aboriginal material culture and art.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research programs in Australian Aboriginal Material Culture and Art collections, developing and interpreting knowledge to advance our understanding of these valuable cultural resources.
  • Collaborate with communities to co-create research that honours cultural strength and continuity.
  • Provide expert advice on professional matters, contributing to the development of best practices in the field.
  • Supervise students, researchers, and visiting researchers working on Australian Aboriginal Material Culture and Art collections, fostering the next generation of cultural heritage professionals.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Anthropology, History, Indigenous Studies or related field, or equivalent cultural knowledge and lived experience.
  • Ability to participate in the department's Performance Management Program, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence in your work.
