Teaching Focused Lecturer

Curtin University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced lecturer to join its teaching-focused team in the discipline of Food Science and Technology.

The successful candidate will contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery, and evaluation of teaching in this area, ensuring that students receive a high-quality learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of curriculum content and assessment methods that enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrate innovative teaching practices and commitment to professional development.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student work, contributing to curriculum design and content development.
  • Engage with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Apply health and safety standards and supervise practical classes as required.
  • Promote the Discipline within and outside the University through service, leadership, and outreach activities.
  • Exemplify the University's values of integrity, respect, courage, excellence, and impact in all interactions.

Selection Criteria:

  • PhD in Food Science and Technology or related field and at least two years of post-doctoral research or industry experience.
  • High-level teaching skills and demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
  • A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and a record of contribution to the scholarship of teaching in the discipline.
  • Ability/experience/capacity to undertake unit coordination role.
  • Ability to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to a collegial and supportive working environment and cross-cultural sensitivity.
