Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced accounting professional to lead our day-to-day accounting operations in Sydney. This role will work closely with our HQ Accounting team to ensure timely month-end close, reporting, policies, and develop controls to ensure consistency across the organization. The successful candidate will be the face of accounting in Sydney and will play a critical role in shaping our local accounting processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end accounting processes in Australia, including financial reporting, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, and payroll.
  • Ensure the Australian entity complies with local accounting standards, ASIC regulations, and local tax reporting deadlines.
  • Coach and develop junior team members, supporting their career growth and goals.
  • Serve as the primary accounting liaison between the US parent company and the Australia subsidiary.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects with various accounting and finance stakeholders, including inventory cost accounting, cash flow forecasting, transfer pricing, and fixed asset management.
  • Monitor local bank account balances and manage liquidity for payment runs.
  • Build and scale a local accounting team as Anduril Australia grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role (public accounting, industry, or both).
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and work with teams across multiple time zones and departments.

Priorities

  • Experience with inventory cost accounting, A-IFRS, intercompany transactions, foreign currency translations, and transfer pricing.
