Job Description

We are seeking an experienced culinary professional to fill the role of Commis Chef in our fast-paced Sydney International Lounges environment. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will provide exceptional customer service to our discerning guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring food products according to established recipes.
  • Execute various cooking techniques and methods under the guidance of senior chefs, including grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, and more.
  • Follow instructions for the preparation and presentation of dishes, adhering to high standards of portion size and presentation.
  • Contribute to the assembly and plating of dishes, ensuring they meet the required quality standards.
  • Maintain kitchen safety rules and guidelines, including the safe use of equipment and handling of hot items.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Cookery qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a luxury 5-star environment is highly regarded but not necessary.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with physical stamina.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • MUST have full working rights within Australia and be able to pass a federal police background security check.
