
Defence Family Support Specialist

The Defence Community Support Coordinator will play a pivotal role in delivering premium support services to Defence members and their families. Reporting directly to the President, this position requires a driven and community-focused individual who can orchestrate and execute programs that strengthen connections among Defence families and the broader community.
Main Responsibilities:- Program Management: Plan, organise and deliver events, workshops and community activities that foster community engagement.
- Primary Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for Defence families seeking assistance, information or referrals to relevant services.
- Administration and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate membership records, databases and contact lists; manage email communications and bookings.
- Grant and Compliance Support: Assist with grant applications, prepare reports and ensure alignment with funding agreements and organisational policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders, and liaise with Defence, government and community stakeholders to strengthen partnerships.
- Communication and Promotion: Coordinate newsletters, social media posts and community network messaging to promote Defence activities, ensuring clear, consistent communication.
- Governance and Policy Compliance: Support the implementation of Defence policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Proven Organisational and Event-Management Skills: Ability to balance multiple tasks.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Able to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Strong collaboration skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace: Essential tools for success.
- Community Engagement or Event Planning Experience: Highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Defence Lifestyle Challenges and Community Support Networks: Advantageous.
