Senior Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced senior leader to strengthen support for our Metro Depot Regional Leaders across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

This newly created role will oversee a combined workforce of 800+, driving performance and profitability across our Metro Transport Depot Operations.

  • Leading a team of four direct reports, this position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your career while staying closely connected to day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record within the Transport and Logistics sector, with expertise in fleet management, warehouse operations and logistics systems.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and sustaining excellent operational discipline
  • Undertaking quality incident response and investigations
  • Visibly leading safety and environmental management and QA compliance
  • Managing, supporting and growing the compatibility of people (resource planning, retention, turnover, performance management, mentorship/development)
  • Maintaining loading, unloading and docking operations
  • Controlling and managing depot facilities, equipment and assets (including pallets)
  • Meeting DIFOT targets
  • Managing overheads and associated costs (labour and non-labour)
  • Being accountable for profit and loss financial analysis and budgeting
  • Supporting operational business improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrating behaviours that support the values of the business
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A proven track record as a senior leader within the Transport and Logistics sector
  • Expertise in fleet management, warehouse operations and logistics systems
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire large teams across multiple locations
  • Align day-to-day operations with the broader business strategy and goals
