**Job Description**

The role of an Educational Support Specialist is vital in assisting students with additional needs to reach their full potential.

As a key member of the educational team, you will work under the direction of a teacher and predominantly support students who require extra help, including those with neurological and learning disorders, physical disabilities, and behavioural disorders.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with the class teacher to reinforce classroom teaching, assisting students with organisation, social competence, accessing activities and appropriate behaviour, and undertaking supervision of the class to enable the teacher to spend time supporting students who need additional assistance.

  • Implementing tailored strategies such as one-on-one or small group instruction, cooperative learning, scaffolding, modelling and worked examples to enhance student outcomes.
  • Providing individualised support and promoting inclusivity within the classroom environment to ensure all students feel valued and supported.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

  • A strong commitment to providing high-quality educational support and promoting student success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers and parents.
  • A valid Working With Children Check/VIT and the ability to undergo background checking in accordance with the college's Child Safety Code of Conduct and Child Protection and Safety Policy.
