Job Description

The Educational Support Specialist plays a vital role in the educational services provided to students. This position involves working in a team environment to support teachers, assist with planning student routines, and communicate with teachers and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports teachers by providing routine assistance with student routines and coordination of educational programs.
  • Liaises with teachers and parents to facilitate effective communication and address any concerns.
  • Communicates regularly with students to enhance their understanding of basic tasks and information.
  • Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, including toileting, meals, and lifting.
  • Addresses immediate behavioral presentations in accordance with school policy and procedure.
  • Offers guidance and supervision to individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting.
  • Supports teachers in coordinating educational programs independently or under minimal supervision, including rostering, organizing the work of a team of aides, and liaising with external providers of support services.

This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will possess a commitment to professional learning and growth, with a focus on supporting the educational services provided to students.
