Job Overview:

The Specialist School is a purpose-built facility catering to students with intellectual and associated disabilities. The school has two departments: Primary and Secondary, featuring classrooms, arts spaces, kitchens, multipurpose rooms, and therapy areas.

A team of teaching staff, allied health practitioners, and education support staff work together to address diverse student needs. Our collaborative approach fosters expertise sharing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake routine and specialized tasks across various work areas in a Special School environment.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team setting with teachers, support staff, therapists, parents, and students.
  • Demonstrate understanding of effective behavior management principles for students who exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • Provide physical assistance with personal care/self-care responsibilities.
  • Understand intellectual disability and its impact on learning.

This role does not require attendance during school vacations.
